You don’t have to hire out expensive cars when you visit the city of Barcelona, as that would just be extra money spent when you could use that money for something else much more worth it. You can still have a great time, possibly even better, if you travel on foot. However, you will then be somewhat limited as you can’t travel too far around Barcelona, but that is fine because most of the sights are close together anyway. You don’t have to travel to all ends of the city just to experience Barcelona. There is so much to see and do you wouldn’t be able to do it all at once anyway.

If you start your journey at the port, from there you can take a nice walk down to de Paseo de Colon Boulevard. You can go and enjoy the sun on the beach with the rest of the family. Make sure you bring along some snacks and towels. From there you can visit the aquarium where you will see lots of different fishes and sea creatures that you never even knew existed, and then go see the harbor where big and small ships dock day in and day out. Once you are done there you can go to the de San Sebastia tower, where you can climb to the top and take in the breathtaking views of the city. In the same area, which is known as little Barcelona or Barceloneta, is where the Montjuic cable car departs.

You can go to the stunning park on the hill Montjuic, where you can relax and have something to eat while you share your day’s highlights with the others. You can also take a walk to the fortress and go and check out some of the history at the museums where you can see things like Miro paintings and art collections that not many people have had the opportunity of viewing. In this area you will also find the Spanish Village, which you should find to be a very interesting place to see and experience.

You can then make your way to the Plaza de Catalunya, which is the modern center. If you are looking to see what real life is like in this area you should take some time to view the houses that are here as these were designed by the one and only Gaudi. You should then grab one of the walking travel guides where you can find information on how to follow the traces of the one and only architect throughout the beautiful town. You will have to visit the Gaudi Museum, the Sagrad Familia and the Parc Guell before you can call it a day.

There is so much for you to do while in the city of Barcelona, and the great thing about this city is that you don’t even need a car to be able to experience it to the fullest. Your own feet are all you need to have a great time and see exactly what the city has to offer its visitors.
